Our Pantry

All of our canned goods are handmade in small batches with local fruit sourced directly from the producers. Most fruits are grown right in Mendocino County, though some of the more specialty items that may not always be available down the road are from farms in the surrounding counties.  All of these flavors are made in limited quantities as we are greatly affected by seasonal availability.

  • Chocolate Plum Jam: organic santa rosa plums with a hint of dark chocolate.  Perfect with Cowgirl Creamery Mt. Tam cheese, roast pork or chicken.
  • Citrus Marmalade: One of our dear friends raided their backyard citrus trees for this batch.  Grapefruit, navel oranges, tangerines and lemons make for a wonderful marmalade that’s sweet, well-rounded and tastes like citrus punch.
  • Jalapeno Jam:  this addictive spread is made with jalapeno peppers grown on our farm last summer.  Use it anywhere you’d use hot sauce: in a quesadilla, scrambled eggs, a pot of soup….  It tends to work very well with both Asian and South American dishes, anywhere you’d want heat and a touch of sweetness.   For something simpler, try it with goat cheese and crackers for a really amazing snack.
  • Lemon Marmalade: a traditional marmalade with delicate lemon slices suspended in a clear lemon flavored jelly.  The flavor is extraordinary, bright and fresh.  Organic lemons are from Twin Girls Farm.
  • Meyer Lemon Marmalade: organic Meyer lemon slices with a splash of orange-blossom extract make a beautifully refined, floral marmalade.  We like this one spread on pound cake or a slice of brioche.
  • Plum-Orange Jam: organic plums cooked with blood oranges, seville oranges, tangerines and grapefruit for a spread that’s not quite a jam and not quite a marmalade.  The flavor is juicy and fresh tasting, great for whole wheat toast or a sandwich with almond butter.
  • Rhubarb Jam: Crimson Crown rhubarb simmered with organic sugar and lemon juice for a wonderfully sweet-tart jam bursting with rhubarb flavor.  Our favorite way to eat this jam is spooned over Greek yogurt, topped with a drizzle of honey and some granola.  (like eating rhubarb pie for breakfast!)
  • Seville Orange and Bergamot Marmalade: a traditional orange marmalade made with bitter seville oranges and exotic bergamot oranges.  Delicious on a toasted english muffin with butter.

For information about ordering, please contact thejamgirl@gmail.com.  We usually sell only at local farmers markets, but we are able to ship anywhere in the US for special requests.

  1. I bought a jar of blood orange marmalade and a dozen of eggs. That was the best marmalade ever and the eggs were so delicious with bright yolks!!! wish I had bought two dozens!!!! Thank you and keep it up. BTW do you sell them elsewhere except Mendocino?
